Antique House of Harter Football Helmet

ANTIQUE FOOTBALL HELMET  The helmet is marked inside with "House of Harter" "1195" and "6 3/4". Colors are black/navy and brown/gold. This helmet was from the South Bend, Indiana area, so it was either a Notre Dame or Michigan helmet. The snap on end of the chin strap is missing.
ARTHUR V. (DAD) HARTER, (1895-1959) Lifelong Goshen resident who began a sporting goods dealership – The House of Harter Sporting Goods Store – which became the largest in Indiana Served as a large-scale equipment supplier to high schools and universities.
