This charming vintage bed skirt / dust ruffle is a one-of-a-kind treasure. Perfect to pair with a patchwork quilt, the bed skirt is made from pieced-together plain muslin flour sacks, sewn onto a cotton deck (probably an old sheet) then embellished with hand-applied patchwork butterflies--- 25, all unique --- of colorful printed cotton, finished with embroidered antennae. I've "stacked" the skirt so the camera will capture more of the butterflies, but there's just one row of them around the bottom, not two. The butterflies' fabric appears to be from the 20s up through the 60s, so I'm really not sure when this bed skirt was made. To my eye it looks like a 1930s piece. Condition is "good vintage," --- there's a scattering of repairs to the deck and tiny holes and/or spots here and there, but nothing egregious. The last 3 photos show the worst spots. This is made to fit a Full/Double bed but, with such a long drop (20") I would think it could easily be used on a Queen, which would make the "drop" closer to about 15." All the butterflies a applied near the bottom, 1/2" - 1" from the hem. If you're a serious buyer and need to see more photos, message me and I'll send you additional pictures. Bed skirt has been freshly laundered and line-dried in the sunshine, and comes from a smoke-free home. Thank you for looking. p.s.
